Plagiarism Policy

Verdict: Journal of Law Science uses Turnitin to assess manuscript similarity. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% must be revised to reduce the similarity to an acceptable level, as explained in the journal’s peer-review process. Similarity scores are assessed alongside the manuscript’s content and source attribution; the score alone does not automatically establish plagiarism.

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

• Using another author’s words, ideas, or substantial parts of a publication without proper acknowledgment.
• Presenting another author’s work as one’s own.
• Claiming research findings or results produced by others as one’s own.

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original and properly acknowledge all sources. They are encouraged to check their manuscripts using plagiarism-detection software before submission. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is also considered unethical.

If suspected plagiarism is identified by the editorial team or reviewers, the journal will investigate the matter and may request an explanation from the authors. Confirmed cases may result in manuscript rejection or other appropriate editorial action. For serious cases, the journal may contact the corresponding author’s institution or relevant research-governance office. Depending on the severity of the misconduct and the findings of the investigation, further sanctions may include restrictions on future submissions to the journal.

All allegations are handled seriously and in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policies. Authors are expected to cooperate with the investigation and provide any requested clarification or supporting documentation.
