  This issue comprises seven articles addressing a range of topics in English Language Teaching, Applied Linguistics, Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis, and English Studies. The topics include the enhancement of speaking and listening skills, vocabulary acquisition through differentiated instruction, the use of constructive feedback, communication strategies in staff–guest interactions, implicature analysis in stand-up comedy, and a feminist analysis of the representation of women in the novel Cantik Itu Luka. Collectively, the articles in this issue offer empirical and analytical perspectives on the use, teaching, learning, and study of the English language across educational, social, professional, and literary contexts.

  This issue features seven articles exploring diverse topics in English language teaching and learning. The studies address speaking and vocabulary development through pictures, students’ perceptions of podcasts, the use of TikTok for speaking practice, comparisons of English and Indonesian words, the impact of artificial intelligence on lesson planning, and the improvement of reading comprehension through the STAD cooperative learning model. Collectively, these studies highlight the use of innovative media, digital technology, and instructional strategies to support English language learning in educational contexts.

The articles examine positive politeness strategies, dyslexia and children’s perspectives, mythology and discrimination in Zootopia, liberal feminist perspectives in The Blue Castle, postcolonialism and ecocriticism in Memoirs of a Geisha, vocabulary learning through games and songs, and representations of slavery and colonialism in the novel Rasina. Collectively, these studies offer linguistic, educational, feminist, semiotic, postcolonial, and literary perspectives on contemporary issues in language and literature.
